The Dead Yogis Society is a bunch of people getting together for an experience. No filter, no agenda, no ego, no bull***t.
To celebrate life and death and the sweat between, an intense practice for the benefit of others.
Come together, breathe, sweat, fly and die with us.
Because death is the great leveller.
We breathe, move and meditate together; push the body, push the mind, until the final exhale.
It doesn’t matter who we are - famously rich or hermit poor, when we die, we all have to let e(go). Let pictures be for memories not promotion. Leave our ego at the door and maybe we won't need it for the way back home.
On the mat, same story – status and money won’t help us meditate.
Wear what you want - nobody's looking. Stop when you want - nobody's counting. Floating or falling - nobody's watching.
It doesn't matter if you can get into a pose, it matters who you are when you come out of it. Pure contentment – Santosha.
Dead happy.
One to Many. We practice as hard as we can, for a greater purpose.
We dedicate our practice, donate – energy, time, intention and money – to a greater cause. Selflessly, from a place of pure love.
We set an intention and put it into action.
This is karma yoga.
Since the beginning of The Dead Yogis Society eight years ago, and thanks to every yogi who participated, we’ve raised around £53,000 for some wonderful causes: Birth Companions, Friends of the Elderly, Magic Breakfast, Red Cross and so many more.
This is a time to remember what we practice for. A hundred and twenty yogis, breathing and moving in unison, and dedicating their practice to the same selfless intention.
