Frequently asked questions
If you don't find the answer you're looking for you can always contact us in Instagram.
Will the class be adapted to my experience?
The Dead Yogis Society events are always open level. You can expect half the room to be in a forward fold whilst the other half will be upside down but regardless, we'll all be linked through the same breath. Our teachers always offer variations of poses that can suit good or bad days. It's your responsibility to read and agree with the requirements stated in the liability waiver, but in any case remember that you can always take a child pose at any time if you need a break, as long as you keep breathing.
What do I need to bring?
A selfless intention. Besides that, we'll provide mats. You can bring your own props if you feel like it but they aren't required. We recommend you bring a jumper for the cool down and maybe a blanket for pranayama and savasana.
What data do you keep about me and why?
The minimum. Our insurance requires that we keep track of who is attending our events, as well as making sure that all practicioners have been informed and have accepted a liability waiver. For that reason, we need to collect your email address, first name, last name, date of birth and city of residence when you attend one of our events.
We’ll keep that information for 12 months after the last event you attended so you won’t have to sign the waiver again for 12 months.
According to the GDPR right to access your data, you can request the data we keep about you at anytime by sending us a request from the email address you used to sign up with.
I want to cancel my booking. Am I going to get a refund?
We don’t issue refunds for donations, but we offer three options you can pick from:
- Swap your in person ticket for an online ticket and receive the Zoom link 45min before the event.
- Transfer your ticket to someone you know and give the gift of yoga.
- Release your ticket and your donation will become a simple donation. Your ticket will then be available to purchase by somebody else.
If you made a simple donation (without buying a ticket), we won't issue a refund.
Troubleshooting: I can't join a live class
To join an event remotely you need to have Zoom installed on your computer. After booking a ticket to attend an event, you’ll receive an email to confirm your booking. Then 45min before the beginning of the event, or straight after booking if you’ve booked less than 45min before the beginning of the event, you’ll receive an email with the link to the virtual room. If you use Gmail and you haven’t received the email with the link, please check the Promotions tab as emails containing links often are mistaken for promotional emails. If you can’t find the link anywhere – not even in your Spam folder—please contact us ahead of the event. Make sure you contact us early enough as we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to provide support less than 10min before the event.
